Research has reconnected two jewels kept for decades at Spain’s National Archaeological Museum with the Roman necropolis of Pollentia after their archaeological origin had been lost.

The study, by Andrea Menéndez and published in the University of Zaragoza journal Salduie, cross-referenced documentation and archives held in Madrid and Mallorca to reconstruct the pieces’ provenance. The work restores the archaeological context of objects that had become detached from the history of the Pollentia excavations.
